Before you call
For a repair, explain what is not working, when the problem started, whether it is constant or intermittent, and whether a breaker or GFCI has tripped.
For an installation, it helps to have the property address, photos of the electrical panel, equipment make and model, photos of the proposed installation location and renovation drawings where applicable.
You do not need to diagnose the electrical problem yourself before calling.
